Forklift Driver/Material Handler

MMI is a structural steel fabricator and industrial contractor based in Mesa, Arizona. In business since 1974, MMI continues to grow each year.  We are very proud of the more than 135 loyal members of our team and are looking for individuals to contribute at a high level. 

The Forklift Driver/Material Handler should have experience loading and unloading structural steel members using forklifts, equipment operation and safety.  The Forklift Driver/Fabrication Material Handler must possess and use strong focus, technique and anticipation to be successful and be able to communicate with Fabrication Manager and team.  Must be able to pass a drug test.  

Pay Range: $17.00 - $20.00 depending on experience

Responsibilities include:

• Verifying the accuracy of quantity and quality of material of incoming deliveries.
• Labeling every piece of material and placing them accordingly.
• Collaborating with internal departments about incorrect deliveries and replace damaged material.
• Keeping the yard organized free of unnecessary material and debris.
• Keeping the saws fed consistently with steel members needed to advance jobs going through the shop according to the plan.
• Maintain professional relationships with vendors that bring material to the yard and show respect for their trucks and trailers.

Forklift Operator/Fabrication Material Handler must be physically able to:

• Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
• Stoop, kneel, bend, squat, stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
