JOB DETAILS

  • Resource Center for Children, Families and Communities
  • Non-Traditional Work Schedule (May work some weekends)

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community Outreach Specialist would be receiving supplies and donations and then distributing them to locations in need. 

  • Assembles a variety of items based on distribution and can lift at least 50lbs. 
  • Provides good customer service in communicating with the community. 
  • Develops and adheres to organization’s in-kind donation policies and procedures. 
  • Organizes logistics and delivery of goods in collaboration with community partners. Coordinates donation pick-ups and tracks, manages and distributes in-kind donations to clients and staff.
  • Identifies and coordinates volunteer opportunities. Develops and administers volunteer recruiting activities. Schedules assignments and provides appropriate supervision of volunteer programs and activities both on- and off-site. 
  • Manages tracking and reporting of in-kind donations. 
  • Attends and participates in internal and external meetings, small and large scale events, team and department staff meetings, and professional development and teambuilding activities. 
  • Builds relationships with our leadership and staff. 
  • Performs all administrative functions, as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or some college
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, visual and verbal communication. 
  • Ability to successfully presents ideas to small and large groups. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative, diplomatic relationships across interdisciplinary teams and with the public. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. 
  • Ability to complete projects under tight deadlines even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Ability to tackle new projects and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited knowledge exists. 
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Excellent computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs, CRM and event specific software. 
  • Familiarity with website and social media posting. 
  • Must have use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage and a valid California's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record substantiated by a copy of DMV records. 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to work non-traditional work schedules, which may include evenings and Saturdays.
