Salary Range:  $18 - $20 hour

Location: Arizona (with occasional travel for local events, pop-ups, and campus activations)

Compensation:

  • Base Pay: $18/hour
  • Performance Bonuses:
    • $500 quarterly bonus for exceeding engagement KPIs (e.g., 15%+ follower growth)
    • $200 bonus per event for generating ≥50 qualified leads through in-person activations

Hours: 15–20 hours per week

Role Overview

This hybrid internship combines digital marketing with in-person brand ambassadorship to create a cohesive, multi-channel experience for our audience. By merging social media management with live event activations, you’ll help build and sustain a dynamic brand presence across both digital and physical touchpoints.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Social Media Management (60% of role):

    • Content Creation & Scheduling: Develop and deploy a weekly content calendar for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Produce visually engaging product photography, short-form video tutorials, and user-generated content (UGC) campaigns that capture the essence of Cactus Corn’s bold brand personality.
    • Community Management: Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions to foster a vibrant online community. Escalate customer service inquiries to the marketing team as needed.
    • Analytics & Reporting: Utilize tools like Hootsuite or Sprout Social to compile biweekly reports tracking follower growth, engagement rates, and overall campaign performance.
    • Trend Integration: Stay on top of platform trends, leveraging trending audio, hashtags, and challenges that resonate with our target demographic (ages 18–34).
  • Brand Ambassadorship (40% of role):

    • Event Activation: Represent Cactus Corn at 3–5 local events per month. Engage directly with consumers by distributing samples, collecting email sign-ups, and generating live social media content (e.g., Instagram Stories, TikTok LIVE).
    • Campus & Community Partnerships: Collaborate with university organizations and local partners to host pop-up tastings, contests, and other activations that drive word-of-mouth promotion.
    • Feedback Synthesis: Gather and document customer insights from events to help inform product development and future marketing strategies.
  • Partnership Development:

    • Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with complementary brands, influencers, and micro influencers that align with Cactus Corn’s vibrant, adventurous ethos, maximizing our reach and engagement across all channels.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Educational Background:
    • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    •  hands-on experience managing social media for a club, small business, or personal brand (preferably with a following of 1,000+).
    • Previous involvement in customer service or event staffing is a plus.
  • Skills & Traits:
    • Advanced understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms, including familiarity with analytics tools and content scheduling applications.
    • Creative content creator capable of producing high-quality videos and images using a smartphone or DSLR.
    • Outgoing, adaptable, and passionate about snack food innovation—ready to embody Cactus Corn’s bold, adventurous brand personality.
    • Proactive with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on emerging digital trends and partnership opportunities.
