Opportunity Overview

GLHN Architects & Engineers is looking for an experienced and creative Senior Marketing Coordinator to collaborate with leadership, marketing, and technical staff to implement the firm’s Strategic Plan, including new market sectors and geographic locations. GLHN is an employee-owned firm founded in Arizona in 1963 with an active and engaged employee culture. While located in Phoenix, this position will also support the efforts of our Tucson headquarters, overseeing marketing functions and supporting business development activities throughout the Southwest, Rocky Mountain, and Pacific regions. The primary objective is to support and enhance proposal efforts while elevating our online presence through social media, website updates and thought leadership practices.  Development of collateral pieces with compelling narratives, award submittals, advertisements, PR placement, and other outward-facing components are vital responsibilities.

 

Core Responsibilities

 

The following assignments are typical but are not all-encompassing.  Every team member is expected to provide equal value by participating in the duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule. 

  • Solicitation research and tracking
  • Support Marketing Coordinator in proposal development, production, submission, and debriefings
  • “Boots on the ground” for Phoenix area pre-proposal meetings, site tours, proposal delivery.
  • Maintain and update marketing material files (including project descriptions, photos, sub-consultant information, employee resumes)
  • Utilize Cosential CRM to track opportunities and manage project/proposal data
  • Support Business Development efforts through research regarding market trends, client needs, client attitudes, and the status of the firm’s competitors 
  • Develop/maintain standards for corporate marketing and promotional materials designed to present a unified company brand internally and externally
  • Presentation development, interview training, preparation of leave-behinds
  • Promote visibility of firm through participation in professional organizations
  • Develop and manage marketing collateral with the input of technical staff 
  • Supervise the release of company publicity information and advertising to the media and other client and private publications 
  • Responsible for keeping the website updated with current portfolio projects and staff members
  • Take the lead on creating thought leadership and SME white papers and presentations and incorporate them into regular blog posting on the website
  • Social media planning and content development for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Event planning and support of annual Open House activities and other BD related events
  • Develop marketing graphics utilizing Illustrator

   

What we want to see, 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism or related field
  • Seven years of marketing experience in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, & Construction) industry
  • Superior writing and editing skills
  • Effective decision-making ability
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments and follow through until deadline met
  • A creative, flexible, and collaborative approach
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Unanet by Cosential, Ajera, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms

 

What we LOVE to see,  

 

  • Comfortable with updating and editing content within the GLHN website via WordPress
  • Knowledge and comfort with using a CRM (Cosential preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of marketing best practices and understanding of SMPS domains of practice
  • Existing network base within the Phoenix Market

 

Relationship Expectations 

 

  • Reports directly to Director of Marketing & Business Development
  • Work assignments may come indirectly from other members of the leadership
  • Responsible for keeping supervisor informed
  • Works closely with a variety of staff across all disciplines to solicit information for proposals, marketing content, interview preparation, and business development support
