This position is essential in ensuring that our guests start their day with a delightful dining experience.
The role of Breakfast Server is a Full-Time position based in our lively, fast-paced restaurant. Please note, this is not a remote job, and the selected candidate will be expected to work on-site at our location. As a Breakfast Server, you will be the front-line ambassador for The Breakfast Joynt, engaging with our customers and ensuring their meal is unforgettable. Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner.
- Ensure that guests are seated and comfortable and provide them with clean menus.
- Take beverage and food orders from guests and communicate these to the kitchen staff and barista efficiently.
- Serve food and beverages to guests, making recommendations if requested and answering any questions about the menu.
- Monitor guests’ needs and preferences, and tailor the dining experience to exceed their expectations.
- Handle special requests and dietary needs professionally and courteously.
- Maintain knowledge of current menu offerings, including ingredients, preparation methods, and unique tastes.
- Manage multiple tables simultaneously while maintaining a high level of hospitality and accuracy.
- Process payments, ensuring that transactions are accurate and swift, and issue receipts.
- Assist in setting up the dining area before service and cleanup after guests leave.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all dining areas according to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to enhance team collaboration and efficiency.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and participate in ongoing training initiatives to continually improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures with a high degree of commitment and integrity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification in food safety or hospitality is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long hours and ability to lift heavy trays and objects.
- A keen eye for detail and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by the shift schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns and emergencies calmly and efficiently.
- Willingness to adhere to the restaurant’s dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Demonstrable skills in efficiently handling cash and credit card transactions.
