As a Local Dedicated Class A Driver, you will play a key role in delivering a variety of products, ranging from food items to furniture, to prominent retail locations throughout the southeastern United States.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A vehicle in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all company and national safety guidelines.
• Manage routes and schedules effectively, ensuring timely delivery of freight.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance where required.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, keeping in touch with dispatch for any changes or updates.
• Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Report defects, accidents or violations immediately to the responsible department.
• Interact with customers professionally at all times, ensuring questions are answered and issues are resolved.
• Participate in training sessions provided by the company to enhance driving skills and overall service delivery.

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A License
• Minimum of 1 year OTR (Over-the-Road) driving experience
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) & Background
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Willingness to undergo training if required
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong organizational and time management skills
