First Choice Physical Therapy is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant in our state-of-the-art outpatient facility. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in the provision of patient care.
- Implement patient/client interventions (treatment).
- Obtain data related to the interventions provided and make modifications as directed.
- Maintain patient records by documenting their therapies and responses.
- Train patients to walk with crutches, canes, or walkers, and move safely to promote maximum function.
- Train caregivers in providing for the needs of a patient during and after therapy.
- Monitor operation of equipment and record use of equipment and administration of treatment.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, using wheelchairs or providing standing support.
- Conduct therapeutic activities designed by a physical therapist.
Requirements
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (or eligible for licensure).
- Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Proven work or clinical rotation track record of compassionate and effective patient care.
- Strong understanding of physiology, exercise science, and body mechanics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
- Capability to handle physical demands of the position including the movement of patients and equipment.
- Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with electronic health records.
