Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planning, and sealant application as prescribed.
  • Assess patient oral hygiene, health condition and needs, and document patient dental history and services performed.
  • Provide instructions on dental care and preventive measures to ensure good oral health.
  • Collaborate with the dentist and dental assistant to ensure optimal patient care and smooth daily operations.
  • Carry out dental charting and maintain high accuracy in patient records using our electronic record-keeping system.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest dental practices and technologies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dental hygiene station and equipment.
  • Conduct oral cancer screenings and collect medical histories with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients, ensuring their comfort during procedures and visits.
  • Assist in the management of medical emergencies in the dental office.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution.
  • Must be licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the state practicing.
  • Local anesthesia certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Dental Hygienist is ideal.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to enhance patient comfort and office communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within a team.
  • Must have a positive and enthusiastic attitude to help foster a pleasant work environment.
  • Self-motivated and dedicated to high standards of care and patient education.
  • Flexibility to accommodate patient scheduling needs, including early mornings or late evenings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using digital radiographs and dental software systems.
