Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in patients.
  • Provide personalized care plans for each patient after thorough assessment and diagnosis.
  • Implement therapeutic activities tailored to meet individual needs of patients.
  • Record, maintain, and review patient progress and treatment plans regularly.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families about speech disorders and communication devices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, physicians, and other clinicians about patient care plans and progress.
  • Participate in continuing education and training to ensure current knowledge of speech pathology practice and technology.
  • Develop and employ strategies to manage caseload effectively while delivering high standards of care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist or eligibility to obtain state licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Experience working with patients across a variety of age groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using medical software and patient management systems.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, adhering to ethical practices and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of current therapy and treatment trends in speech-language pathology.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, balancing patient care, documentation, and other job-related responsibilities.
  • Physical stamina to perform required duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, and supporting patients.
