The Dental Insurance and Billing Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within our financial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing dental insurance processes, patient billing, and ensuring timely collection of payments, which are crucial in maintaining the financial health of our practice. We are looking for a proactive and meticulous professional who is committed to supporting both our team and our patients with utmost integrity and precision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly understand and manage dental insurance plans and policies to ensure accurate billing and reconciliation of accounts.
  • File dental insurance claims, verify insurance benefits, and follow up on pending claims promptly, especially those over 30 days.
  • Coordinate and communicate with insurance companies to resolve disputes and expedite claim processing and payments.
  • Prepare and present detailed treatment plans to patients, explaining the costs, insurance coverage, and available payment options.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records, processing payments, and pursuing collections in a tactful manner.
  • Utilize EagleSoft dental software to record transactions and generate financial reports that assist in strategic financial planning.
  • Collaborate with dental staff and administration to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care and financial management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patients' billing and insurance inquiries with clarity and empathy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dental insurance filing, claim follow-ups, and patient billing and collections at a dental office.
  • Proficiency with EagleSoft dental software is essential for managing patient information and financial records.
  • In-depth knowledge of dental billing practices, including understanding of ICD-10 and CDT coding systems for claim processing.
  • Excellence in communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing for effective patient interactions and resolution of insurance disputes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, contributing to the collaborative environment and supporting peers in achieving collective goals.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA regulations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within a dental practice.
  • Educational background in business administration, finance, or related field is preferred.
