Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. This position will start as a direct contract with Tender Care to permanent position after the probationary period. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing quality patient care in both the field and office settings.  This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to supporting home healthcare  providers in delivering exceptional patient services under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner. 

Job Description:

  • Assist in examination  and treatment of Geriatric Primary Care patients and/or advanced wound care patients under the direction of a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Collect all medical data in order to facilitate the Practitioner's ability to draw conclusions about the patient's needs. 
  • Ensure all charts and forms for the office visit are ready for the provider.
  • Measure, collect and record patient's vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, oxygen, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and prepare patients for examinations and tests/procedures).
  • Perform wound care as requested
  • Maintain confidentiality and patient privacy at all times. Verify and ensure patient data is accurately documented within electronic systems, and distributed via manual processes. Schedule follow-up care (i.e., appointments, referrals, testing) as requested.
  • Initiate prior authorizations/pre-certifications as appropriate. Counsel patients on process requirements.
  • May perform clinical support duties including but not limited to: phone triage, filing, and data entry as requested.
  • May be required and/or assigned to temporarily provide cross-coverage to other clinical departments to assist with staffing needs and ensure safe clinical operations.
  • Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork is a must. 
  • Duties will include both office and field work (in-home healthcare services).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years plus experience highly preferred.
  • Current CMA licensing required.
  • CPR certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required. 
  • Home Health experience preferred.
  • Clinical hands-on experience in geriatric primary care preferred.
  • Clinical experience in wound care preferred.
  • Proven Leadership and team management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
  • Ability to multitask
  • Computer literacy.
  • Medical terminology 
  • Must have reliable transportation

Medical Specialty: Home Healthcare; Geriatric primary care; Wound care.
