Salary Range:  $50000 - $75000 year

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. The Project Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and assisting with bid proposals to ensure competitive and accurate pricing. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Analysis:

  • Review project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to determine project scope.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotes to determine the best pricing options.
  • Identify potential cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Proposal & Bid Preparation:

  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and project management teams to refine estimates and strategies.
  • Assist in negotiations with clients and subcontractors regarding pricing and project scope.

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and vendors to gather required information.
  • Track and update cost databases and historical pricing records.
  • Assess project risks and provide recommendations for cost control.

Client & Vendor Communication:

  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Request and evaluate quotes from multiple vendors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide clarification on estimates as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a project estimator in [industry-specific experience, e.g., construction, manufacturing, fabrication].
  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or other relevant tools).
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Office and job site visits may be required.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing documents and estimates.
