The Logistics Specialist will manage the movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery, inventory control, and cost-efficiency across all logistics processes. This role demands attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across various departments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will have experience in supply chain and logistics management.
Salary Range: $25 - $28 hour
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination: Oversee and manage inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring on-time deliveries to customers and vendors.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and forecast future needs to avoid overstock or stockouts.
Transportation Management: Optimize transportation routes and carriers, negotiating rates and ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Use logistics management software to track and analyze shipping performance, and generate reports on delivery times, costs, and areas of improvement.
Supply Chain Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth transitions between logistics and other business operations.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all shipments adhere to regulatory requirements (including customs), and maintain accurate records for auditing purposes.
Problem Resolution: Handle any transportation or logistics-related issues, including delays, damages, or disputes, and work to resolve them promptly.
Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within the logistics process without compromising service quality.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements and identify technologies or methodologies that can enhance supply chain and logistics operations.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficient with logistics software (such as SAP, Oracle, or TMS), Excel, and other data analysis tools. Familiarity with RFID and barcode scanning systems is beneficial.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of transportation management, inventory control, warehousing, and international shipping regulations.
Soft Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and clients to achieve business objectives.
