As a Dental Treatment Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our practice. This position is not eligible for remote work, as the nature of the job requires direct, in-person interaction with our patients and staff to effectively manage dental treatment plans and services. We’re looking for a professional who can blend excellent communication skills with effective organizational methodologies to provide exceptional patient care and service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, making them feel welcome and addressing their dental concerns.
- Explain dental treatment plans and options to patients, ensuring they understand the scope and benefits of the procedures.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments, working closely with dentists to ensure efficient use of their time.
- Verify and interpret patient insurance coverage to provide clear information concerning benefits and out-of-pocket costs.
- Follow up with patients after treatment to ensure satisfaction and to manage further appointments or treatments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within our dental practice management software.
- Discuss payment options and facilitate processing of payments and billing.
- Work collaboratively with the dental staff to improve patient care and office protocols.
- Handle patient concerns and issues with discretion and professionalism, providing solutions that align with practice policies.
- Educate patients on maintaining good oral health and the implications of treatment plans.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to stay informed of new practices and to suggest improvements.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a dental office or similar healthcare setting (1+ years preferred).
- Familiarity with dental terminology, insurance verification, and treatment planning.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, empathetic demeanor.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Open Dental) or willingness to learn.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in dental office administration is a plus.
