Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient exams and compile detailed medical dental histories.
- Diagnose and provide appropriate dental treatment to patients, including regular cleanings, root canals, surgical extractions, implants, and cosmetic dentistry.
- Educate patients on maintaining proper oral health and preventative dental care.
- Design, make, and fit prosthodontic appliances such as dentures, crowns, and bridges.
- Direct the preparation of models of the mouth and teeth from impressions taken by self or other dental staff.
- Supervise the work of professional, technical, and administrative staff.
- Maintain patient records with thorough treatment documentation and progress notes.
- Collaborate with other dental team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in dentistry through continued education and professional growth.
- Manage dental emergencies effectively.
- Enhance the functionality and aesthetics of patients' teeth using modern tools and techniques.
Requirements
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
- Valid state dental license (or eligible to obtain the same) and malpractice insurance.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dental practice, including performing advanced procedures.
- Excellent understanding of dental surgery procedures and diagnostics.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proficiency in building patient rapport.
- Commitment to quality patient care and service excellence.
- Capable of managing multiple cases with professionalism and according to compliance requirements.
- Well-versed in the latest dental technologies and willing to embrace new techniques.
- Ability to handle and defuse potentially tense situations with patients calmly and effectively.
