Job Opening: Maintenance Technician at Barker Apartments

Barker Apartments is excited to announce an opening for a Maintenance Technician at our esteemed properties! This Full-Time position is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is hands-on, enjoys solving problems, and is keen on making a tangible impact on the comfort and quality of our residents' lives. Please note that this role is not eligible for remote work; presence on-site is required to perform the duties effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a service-oriented environment by exhibiting a professional appearance and attitude.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, common areas, and grounds.
• Participate in snow removal and other weather-related emergencies as necessary.
• Make apartments ready for move-in and complete residents' work orders, including, but not limited to, floor replacement, plumbing repair/replacement, electrical installation/repair, HVAC tune-up/repair/replacement, minor carpet repair, carpentry, fixture/window treatment installation/repair, and cabinetry.
• Participate in larger maintenance projects, including, but not limited to, asphalt and cement repair, deck repair, siding painting, and repair.
• Carry the on-call phone when required and respond to all emergency calls immediately, efficiently, and effectively.
• Participate in job and safety training, including HVAC, pool certification, etc.
• Contribute to the safe working environment of Barker Apartments, QC properties by always maintaining safe work practices.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices involved in apartment maintenance and projects.
• Experience operating power and manual tools.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and move 60 pounds without restrictions.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and climb three flights of stairs throughout the day.
• Maintain professional, positive relationships with prospects, residents, and coworkers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to use electronic communications professionally and efficiently.

Compensation and Benefits

Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-call as required.
