Job Opening: Maintenance Technician at Barker Apartments
Barker Apartments is excited to announce an opening for a Maintenance Technician at our esteemed properties! This Full-Time position is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is hands-on, enjoys solving problems, and is keen on making a tangible impact on the comfort and quality of our residents' lives. Please note that this role is not eligible for remote work; presence on-site is required to perform the duties effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a service-oriented environment by exhibiting a professional appearance and attitude.
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, common areas, and grounds.
- Participate in snow removal and other weather-related emergencies as necessary.
- Make apartments ready for move-in and complete residents' work orders, including, but not limited to, floor replacement, plumbing repair/replacement, electrical installation/repair, HVAC tune-up/repair/replacement, minor carpet repair, carpentry, fixture/window treatment installation/repair, and cabinetry.
- Participate in larger maintenance projects, including, but not limited to, asphalt and cement repair, deck repair, siding painting, and repair.
- Carry the on-call phone when required and respond to all emergency calls immediately, efficiently, and effectively.
- Participate in job and safety training, including HVAC, pool certification, etc.
- Contribute to the safe working environment of Barker Apartments, QC properties by always maintaining safe work practices.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices involved in apartment maintenance and projects.
- Experience operating power and manual tools.
- Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and move 60 pounds without restrictions.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods and climb three flights of stairs throughout the day.
- Maintain professional, positive relationships with prospects, residents, and coworkers.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use electronic communications professionally and efficiently.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: $18-$22 per hour

Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, on-call as required.
