As a Solar Consultant, you will engage directly with prospective clients, guiding them through the benefits and the process of transitioning to solar energy. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Educate potential customers on the benefits of solar energy and the specifics of our offerings.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of customer’s current and projected electrical usage and financial return on investment.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, and marketing events.
  • Prepare detailed, customized proposals that meet specific customer needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers before and after contract agreements to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Navigate and utilize CRM systems for tracking customer interactions and sales process documentation.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
  • Execute agreements and collect customer deposits to secure sales.
  • Participate in local trade shows and fairs to promote the company’s products and gather leads.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding solar installations.
  • Collaborate with design and installation teams to ensure each project meets customer specifications.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector or other high-value product sectors.
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle for client visits and other field activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage one’s own schedule effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong willingness to travel frequently as demanded by sales activities and client consultations.
  • Robust work ethic and a driven disposition to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ease at building client relationships.
  • Background in business, marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals decisively.
  • Capability to understand and present complex technical information to non-technical audience.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software to streamline the sales process and maximize productivity.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess client needs effectively and propose ideal solutions.
  • Current knowledge of the solar industry and technologies is a major advantage.
  • Must be open to attending training and development sessions to stay updated with the latest market and technology trends in the solar industry.
