As a Solar Consultant, you will engage directly with prospective clients, guiding them through the benefits and the process of transitioning to solar energy. Duties and Responsibilities
- Educate potential customers on the benefits of solar energy and the specifics of our offerings.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of customer’s current and projected electrical usage and financial return on investment.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, and marketing events.
- Prepare detailed, customized proposals that meet specific customer needs.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers before and after contract agreements to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Navigate and utilize CRM systems for tracking customer interactions and sales process documentation.
- Attend and actively participate in weekly sales meetings and training sessions.
- Overcome technical and business objections of prospective customers.
- Execute agreements and collect customer deposits to secure sales.
- Participate in local trade shows and fairs to promote the company’s products and gather leads.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding solar installations.
- Collaborate with design and installation teams to ensure each project meets customer specifications.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
Requirements
- Proven sales experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector or other high-value product sectors.
- Must possess a reliable vehicle for client visits and other field activities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate quickly and efficiently with all stakeholders.
- Ability to manage one’s own schedule effectively with minimal supervision.
- Strong willingness to travel frequently as demanded by sales activities and client consultations.
- Robust work ethic and a driven disposition to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ease at building client relationships.
- Background in business, marketing, or a related field is advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals decisively.
- Capability to understand and present complex technical information to non-technical audience.
- Proficiency in using CRM software to streamline the sales process and maximize productivity.
- Strong analytical skills to assess client needs effectively and propose ideal solutions.
- Current knowledge of the solar industry and technologies is a major advantage.
- Must be open to attending training and development sessions to stay updated with the latest market and technology trends in the solar industry.
