Summary:
The Assistant Program Director is responsible for supporting the Program Director
in the day-to-day operation of the residence, including implementing agency policy and practice and ensuring compliance with the statutory requirements of the DDS. Supports the Director in the overall supervision of staff, ensures that the home environment is maintained to the highest standard. Protects the rights, freedoms and confidentiality and supervises the medical, nutritional health and general welfare of individuals within the program.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist in the compilation of all reports and documents required by the DDS
Provide oversight of the medical health, nutritional standards, educational and general welfare of the individuals.
Helps individuals with activities of daily living and personal care.
Ensure the residential program is maintained in a safe, sanitary, attractive and comfortable state.
Protect the integrity and privacy of the program. Protect each individual's rights and freedom and maintain confidentiality of information relating to individuals in the residential program.
Participate in the development of the Individual Service Plan and its periodic review, in collaboration with other stakeholders.
Assist the Program Director with oversight of the program systems such as medication administration, financial, and individual records.
Be engaged with the individuals and participate in program and community activities.
Responsible for community outreach to ensure integration and relationship building.
Provide positive behavioral support to the residents and assist in managing behavioral challenges.
Assist in the orientation of new hires and relief staff.
Participates in performing vital program operations (e.g., weekly food shopping, house maintenance, resident medical appointments, resident personal needs, etc.)
Aids the Program Director/Coordinator in soliciting, screening, and interviewing candidates for staff openings at the program.
Drive the agency vehicle to support individuals in community activities, attending medical appointments, and errands.
Attends all mandatory agency training.
Demonstrates and implements knowledge of Communitas policies and standards as well as funding source regulations.
Follows HIPAA, security regulations and/or guidelines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
MAP certification is highly preferred. MAP training offered.
High School diploma is required
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred
At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or similar needs
Must be able to to up to 25 lbs and walk/stand for at least one hour interrupted
A passion and dedication to supporting our people
A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation
Must pass a CORI background check, fingerprinting, and reference check
