Service Delivery Engineer (Costa Rica)

Salary Range:  $30000 - $40000 year

Hanson Consulting Group is seeking an experienced full stack Service Delivery Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the gaming industry! In this role, you will be responsible for helping maintain frontend and backend services support for applications/services utilized by game studios to host their games on cloud-based platforms such as Playfab and Xbox Live, ensuring a positive gaming experience for end users.

 

As a Service Delivery Engineer, you will be responsive to the continuous support needs of these services including releasing new features, conducting regular bug triage, implementing updates/fixes to services platforms to ensure optimal performance for customers. High level service engineering and maintenance tasks may include writing tests, fixing bugs, scaling services and being part of the team’s on-call rotation.

 

The individual in this role must be located in Costa Rica and willing to work Pacific Time hours to align with our client and team. 

 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Helping to successfully re-platform applications from one platform/infrastructure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and/or Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS).
  • Ensure successful certificate autorenewals, ensuring security certificates such as SSL/TLS, API credentials, identity certificates etc. are automatically renewed before they expire to prevent downtime and maintain secure connectivity.
  • Participate in infrastructure migration to ensure the application’s platform, middleware and environment are successfully moved from one infrastructure to another, supporting optimization and scalability of services leveraged by cloud-based technologies.
  • Oversee automated testing of Services for quality, security and connectivity.
  • Make updates to existing features on React pages, such as Secret Management, update of certificate, Azure Arc-enabled Servers, and build usage page.
  • Migrate current DevOps actions (e.g., Powershell) to Geneva Action.
  • Perform Azure Container Registry management improvements as needed. 
  • Implement Optional Samples to updates, leveraging Unreal/Unity and C++.
  • Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, responding to customer issues as they arise in real-time, investigating bugs and implementing fixes. 

 

Desired Skills & Experience: 

  • Secondary education degree (Bachiller Universitario or Licenciado degree)
  • 1-2 years of front-end development experience with languages such as CSS and JavaScript, in addition to knowledge of front-end frameworks like React and Angular
  • 3 years of C#/.Net experience 
  • 3 years of experience using Unreal and/or Unity (C++) 
  • 2 years of experience working with distributed systems
  • 2 years of experience working with Azure or related cloud services experience (Google Cloud, AWS, IBM etc.)
  • 2 years of experience working with Powershell 
  • Knowledge of UI/UX best practices
  • Understanding of securities vulnerabilities and secure coding practices
  • Experience working with Microsoft Orleans or another Actor Model (preferred)
  • Experience working with Windows Autopilot (preferred)
