Genuine Smiles is proud to announce a career opportunity in our trusted family dental practice. We are currently seeking a qualified Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis. This position will be onsite, as it is not eligible for remote work. Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planing, debridement, and application of fluoride and sealants.
- Evaluate patients' oral health and report findings to dentists.
- Document care by charting patient treatments and conditions in patient records.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as postoperative instructions.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging for repairs.
- Stay current with professional development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhance dental practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist and certification to practice dental hygiene.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental office preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Proficient in using digital record keeping and dental application software.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with high attention to detail and professionalism.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both patients and other staff members.
- Commitment to continuing education in dental techniques and technologies.
- Capacity to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding dental and health care.
