Experienced Dental Receptionist
Location: 2525 W Carefree Highway, Ste 154 Phoenix AZ 85085
Work Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (Two shifts: 6:30AM to 3:00PM and 11:00AM – 7:00 PM)
Friday: 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM (Half Day)
Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour (based on experience)
Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and personable Dental Receptionist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a dental office setting and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment. The Dental Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere while ensuring the smooth operation of the front office.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Reception: Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner upon arrival. Ensure all patient information is accurately entered into the system.
Appointment Scheduling: Answer phone calls, schedule and confirm appointments, and handle rescheduling or cancellations in a timely manner.
Billing and Insurance: Collect patient payments, verify insurance information, submit claims, and assist with billing inquiries. Work with insurance companies to verify benefits and assist with pre-authorizations.
Patient Records: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Administrative Support: Perform a variety of administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining patient files.
Coordination with Clinical Staff: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other office staff to ensure smooth operations and communicate any patient needs.
Problem Resolution: Address patient concerns or complaints with professionalism and empathy, ensuring patient satisfaction.
Office Organization: Keep the reception area clean and organized, ensuring all supplies are stocked and office equipment is functioning properly.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working as a dental receptionist or in a similar front-office administrative role.
Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance policies preferred.
Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build rapport with patients.
Detail-oriented and able to handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required.
