The successful candidate will be entrusted with managing the day-to-day financial transactions of the company, contributing directly to the overall financial health of the organization. Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by documenting daily transactions.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable activities promptly and accurately.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.
- Implement bookkeeping and accounting systems using software programs to record financial transactions.
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Monitor financial transactions and reports; process adjustments as necessary.
- Perform reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Manage payroll processing and report financial irregularities to management.
- Provide administrative support through effective filing and organization of financial documents.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecast reports for departmental planning.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Respond to inquiries from clients and external vendors and resolve discrepancies in financial reports.
- Engage in ongoing educational opportunities to update job knowledge and technical skills.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Degree in finance, accounting, or relevant field; alternatively, current college accounting students are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize duties to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain detailed records.
- Capability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrable ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and general ledgers.
