Hallmark is a Halifax based dental lab serving dental clinics and their patients in Atlantic Canada. We are searching for a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Analyst to join our team. The role of the Inventory Analyst is to support a smooth execution of purchasing activities in the company that will result in correct products and services according to deadlines and cost as needed by each department. The Inventory analyst will review the delivery of materials, monitor cost and productivity, regulate storage and inventory, and keep records and prepare stock and order reports.
Success in this role requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Inventory Analyst Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee purchasing, distribution and receiving of lab and office supplies
- Authorize payments, returns of merchandise, and pricing
- Organize and locate inventory in databases and online systems
- Monitor supplies usage verse order frequency
- Develop and maintain minimum and maximum order quantities for all consumables
- Coordinate and manage all activities during the purchasing process, such as creating purchase orders, monitoring transportation, invoice creation and follow-through
- Analyze and monitor internal, economic, and consumer trends to forecast sales and inventory
- Administer cycle counts and quarterly physical counts; prepares reports of inventory balance, shortages, and other financial data as required
- Submit monthly administrative reports to CEO, COO and CFO
- Layout storage space in a productive, logical manner and maintain it in the same manner
- Negotiate with vendors for optimal pricing contracts
- Follow up on deliveries and initiate expediting orders when necessary
- Liaise with accounts payable: Matches all suppliers' invoices with appropriate bills of lading and POs for payment on a timely basis
- Issue requests for quotes on inventory replenishment, new equipment, tools, etc.
- Engage in professional and respectful communication with all stakeholders
- Rectify receiving issues, over-shipments, and damaged products
- Stock lab with new parts and products on an as-needed basis
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment which focuses on delivering high levels of team engagement
- Conduct research and present ideas to the Production Supervisors for initiatives and recommendations that will improve the department and company
Inventory Analyst Requirements:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or Accounting is an asset
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Prior working experience in Inventory is an asset
- Good computer skills, experience with databases and spreadsheets
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
