Segal McCambridge, a national litigation firm is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our general litigation team supporting New York and New Jersey matters. This position offers exponential opportunity for someone looking to perform challenging work in a collaborative, team environment within a well-established, but growing organization.  The position is based in our New York office with a flexible mix of in-office and remote work. 

The successful candidate will take ownership of files and work with the handling attorneys to complete all necessary litigation functions from pleadings through trial preparation.

Desired skills and knowledge:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a paralegal in a civil litigation setting; 
• Experience with handling NY and NJ matters, including filing with state and federal courts;
• Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and legal terminology;
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure;
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in drafting, editing and proofreading documents;
• Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Windows Applications, Internet search engines and electronic court filing and service applications;
• Ability to maintain confidentiality;
• paralegal degree preferred;
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with senior level individuals both internally and externally;
• Ability to follow instructions effectively;
• Independent judgment required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.
