Job Description

The Bug Company, an industry leader in the breeding and distribution of live insects, is excited to announce an opening for a Shipping Team Member. This position plays a pivotal role in our operations, ensuring that all orders are prepared, packaged, and shipped with the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to contributing to the success of our logistics operations. Please note, that this position is based at our main distribution center and is not available for remote work.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare orders by picking, packing, and labeling shipping containers with precise attention to detail.
• Ensure that all packages are secured, correctly labeled, and ready for shipping in a timely manner.
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently, using appropriate tools as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other team members to optimize shipping processes and overall team efficiency.
• Conduct quality control checks on outgoing shipments to prevent any errors or customer dissatisfaction.
• Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues with shipments to the supervisor immediately.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new procedures or company policies.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a dusty environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand in place, squat, kneel, bend, and carry frequently.
• Ability to problem solve and follow directions.
• Ability to understand and speak English.
• Ability to count to 100 and perform simple math tasks.
• Ability to use a box cutter and tape gun safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform duties with accuracy, care, and speed.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Must have attention to detail.
• Must be able to work directly with and handle live insects.

Shift: Sunday- Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

**Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and company needs**
