The Bug Company, a leader in the production and distribution of quality feeder insects, is excited to announce an opening for a Packaging Team Member. Located at our Hellertown, PA center, this full-time position offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with our product line — live insects! Interested candidates should be aware that this is not a remote position and requires presence on-site to handle and package our diverse range of bugs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently package live insects for distribution while ensuring the safety and comfort of the bugs throughout the process.
• Follow standard operating procedures for the packing and shipment of live insects.
• Inspect products for quality
• Maintain a clean and organized work area compliant with safety regulations.
• Use tools like box cutters and tape guns to prepare shipping containers and other packaging materials.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a dusty environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand in place, squat, kneel, bend, and carry frequently.
• Ability to problem solve and follow directions.
• Ability to understand and speak English clearly.
• Ability to count to 100 and engage in simple math operations.
• Ability to use a box cutter and tape gun safely and proficiently.
• Ability to perform duties with accuracy, care, and speed.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
• Must have keen attention to detail.
• Must be able to work directly with and handle live insects on a daily basis.
• Packaging or assembly experience is a plus, but not required as on-the-job training will be provided.

Shift

Sunday - Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; Wednesdays 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

**Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and company needs**
