The Bug Company, a leading provider in the insect industry, is excited to announce a job opening for a Part-Time Delivery Driver specifically for Wednesdays. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to timely and efficient local deliveries. As a valued member of our team, you will help operations within our local routes. We emphasize that this is a part-time, on-site role, requiring presence and direct involvement in operational tasks. Being physically present means actively engaging with our team and clients to ensure our high standards are met with every delivery. Note, that the role is not eligible for remote work.
The Part-Time Delivery Driver for The Bug Company is responsible for managing and executing delivery activities exclusively on Wednesdays. This position requires handling various logistical tasks which include the transportation, handling, and delivery of packages within a designated geographical area. The ideal candidate will not only follow route and time schedules but also comply with traffic regulations and safety standards, ensuring that all deliveries are conducted efficiently and without incident.
Delivery Driver Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles to transport cargo to and from designated local locations ensuring timely delivery.
- Practice safe and efficient driving skills at all times, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and report any discrepancies or maintenance needs to management immediately.
- Communicate with management to ensure on-time delivery and efficient route planning.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, being friendly and professional in all customer interactions.
- Handle all packages and goods with care to avoid damages, ensuring all cargo is secured properly before transport.
- Assist in loading and unloading of cargo, employing proper lifting and handling techniques to move heavy parcels safely and effectively.
- Adapt to variable weather and traffic conditions, making safety-focused decisions.
- Resolve any delivery discrepancies/inform the manager immediately.
- Keep a clean and organized vehicle, promoting a positive image of the company’s brand.
Delivery Driver Schedule
- Wednesday's
- 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
**Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedule and company needs**
Delivery Driver Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and a clear driving record.
- Minimum 9 years of driving experience.
- Minimum of two years of professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery driver role.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and defensive driving practices.
- Exceptional organizational skills to ensure timely delivery and efficient cargo management.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy items, with the capability of moving parcels that weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to operate GPS devices, route management tools, and other navigation apps proficiently.
- Proven track record of reliability and dependability in previous employment.
