The Bug Company, an innovative leader in the production of quality feeder insects, invites you to apply for the position of Shipping/Packaging Associate. This Full-Time role is essential to our operations and is ideal for those who genuinely enjoy a physical and dynamic work environment. As a Shipping/Packaging Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products are packaged with care and precision, reaching our customers in excellent condition. Please note, this position is not a remote job and will require your presence at our facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately package live insects and other products according to specific instructions and standards.
• Ensure that all packages are secured properly to prevent damage during transit
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Inspect products for quality and accuracy before shipment.
• Operate various tools and equipment used in the shipping and packaging process, such as box cutters and tape guns.
• Manage time effectively to meet or exceed production and shipping targets.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a dusty environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand in place, squat, kneel, bend, and carry frequently.
• Ability to problem solve and follow directions.
• Ability to understand and speak English.
• Ability to count to 100 and perform simple math.
• Ability to use a box cutter and tape gun effectively.
• Ability to perform duties with accuracy, care, and speed.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Must have attention to detail.
• Must be able to work directly with and handle live insects.

Additional Information:

Salary: Starting at $16.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Shift: Sunday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Hours will fluctuate based on the shipping schedules and company needs).
