The Cow Creek Band of the Umpqua Tribe of Indians is currently seeking a dedicated and professional individual to fill the role of Public Health Registered Nurse. As a Public Health Registered Nurse at our organization, you will be involved with various facets of community health including preventive health services, health education, disease management, and liaison activities between the health clinic and public health sectors. This role requires a dynamic nurse who can adeptly handle multiple healthcare tasks while interfacing with numerous community groups and individuals to promote wellness and health awareness across different settings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing physical and developmental examinations and assessments to determine patient health status.
- Generating detailed healthcare reports to track community health statistics and outcomes.
- Evaluating the health history and current health status of clients to guide appropriate interventions.
- Administering necessary treatments and immunizations in accordance with established healthcare plans.
- Acting as a clinical liaison between the Public Health Department and health clinic or clients, ensuring seamless communication and service delivery.
- Collecting specimens for lab tests, monitoring these tests, and evaluating the outcomes for further treatment planning.
- Providing continuous monitoring for patients, including regular follow-up to ensure sustained care and response to treatment.
- Driving to off-site locations to perform essential job duties as required by the health program’s outreach efforts.
- Completing required training proficiently to support the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Assisting with surveillance activities and prevention research data collection to better inform public health initiatives.
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse License required.
- BSN, ADN, or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Certified in CPR and trained in emergency response.
- Proven skill in performing comprehensive physical examinations.
- Demonstrated experience in using appropriate medical tools and equipment effectively.
- Skilled in obtaining and recording patient information accurately and thoroughly.
- Computer literate with the ability to quickly learn new systems and software used in healthcare settings.
- Ability and willingness to maintain strict confidentiality concerning patient records and discussions.
- Excellent communication skills capable of interacting with people of diverse backgrounds both orally and in writing, using tact and diplomacy.
- Strong team player with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Adherence to established policies, procedures, guidelines, and orders through consistent practice.
- Must be able to commute to all clinic locations as the job demands.
