Nagy Family Dental Group is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and experienced Dental Assistant. This full-time position is perfect for individuals seeking to enhance their career in the dental field while working alongside a team of devoted professionals. This is an in-office role, requiring a hands-on approach and direct patient interaction. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental assistant capacity and will be instrumental in providing high-quality dental care to our patients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to taking dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Serve as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
• Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
• Communicate with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies).
• Assist with and help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a dental assistant.
• Valid X-ray certificate.
• CPR & first aid certificate.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a comprehensive team.
• Good manual dexterity and the ability to perform detailed dental procedures.
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
• Understanding of health & safety regulations.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred. Experience using Open Dental a plus.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic combined with great communication skills.
