Dental Insurance Verification Specialist - EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Nagy Family Dental Group is excited to announce the opening of a new position within our administrative team. We are currently seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our bustling dental practice. This individual will play a crucial role in the seamless operation of our insurance verification processes, ensuring that all patient benefits are accurately and efficiently verified.

This is a part-time, Monday - Thursday position housed within our modern office facilities. A typical work day for this position would consist of approximately 6 hours per day.

Please note, this is not a remote job, and the successful candidate will need to be on-site during their shifts to manage tasks effectively and interact with our team and patients directly.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify eligibility and benefit coverage for dental procedures on behalf of patients prior to their appointments.
• Liaise with dental insurance company representatives to resolve any issues pertaining to claims and coverage.
• Communicate with patients to inform them of their coverage and any potential out-of-pocket costs.
• Update patient records with insurance and billing information.
• Document all steps in the insurance verification process within our internal systems.
• Provide support to the billing department by cross-verifying patient bills with insurance claim details to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and company standards at all times.
• Participate in routine audits and compliance checks to maintain accuracy in insurance procedures.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow within the administrative department.

Requirements

• Proven 2 years experience as an Insurance Verification Specialist in a dental or healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further training or certification in Medical/Dental Billing or Insurance Verification is highly preferred.
• Ability to run and process reports effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and transactions.
• Experienced in processing payments and managing billing inquiries.
• Knowledge of dental coding; ability to assist with dental coding and is insurance verification as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to deal efficiently with patients and insurance companies.
• Must ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Proficiency in office software and billing systems commonly used in dental practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
