Job Duties:

  • Construct structures as per plans and drawings.
  • Assist in developing building plans.
  • Select and utilize appropriate materials.
  • Apply carpentry techniques: measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Maintain, inspect, and keep tools, machines, and work areas clean.
  • Willingness to learn and operate equipment.
  • Mentorship of junior employees.
  • Regular communication with crew foreman and site supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction.
  • Post-secondary education or carpentry trade certificate preferred; apprentices considered.
  • Red Seal Certificate an asset.
  • Proficient with tools and equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building regulations and codes is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude with problem-solving skills is advantageous.
  • Comfortable working in a safety-sensitive environment.
  • Capable of lifting and maneuvering 50+ lbs. safely.
  • Able to climb ladders and operate heavy machinery safely.
  • Endurance for long periods of standing and repetitive tasks.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented, with strong communication skills.
  • Flexible for overtime during peak seasons.
  • Hardworking and takes pride in ownership of work.
