Job Description

Overview:

Master Plumbing & Heating supports residential and commercial clients in preventative maintenance, installation, and repair services for plumbing, heating ventilation, air conditioning, and control (HVAC) systems. Master Plumbing and Heating is currently seeking a talented Estimator to join our team. This position is Full-Time and offers WFH flexibility. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing cost estimates for projects, analyzing blueprints, and collaborating with the project management team to ensure successful project completion.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for plumbing and HVAC projects.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Attend site visits and meetings to gather information for accurate estimates.
  • Review subcontractor quotes and negotiate pricing.
  • Track project costs and provide regular updates to the management team.
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to accurately estimate project costs (e.g. WrightSoft, Fast Duct, Elite HVAC, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Analyze project risks and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Present cost estimates to clients and address any inquiries or concerns.
  • Monitor project budgets and costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates as needed.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating (for plumbing and HVAC projects preferred).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
