Block & Concrete Mason Job Description
We are searching for an experienced and competent block and concrete mason. Your duties will include installing masonry construction materials according to building codes and instructions from the supervisor, and according to the drawings. This position requires you to have great strengths and endurance, basic math skills, and building and construction knowledge. Our ideal candidate is a fast learner and a team player who is reliable and hard-working.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow all safety regulations and policies
Use all construction tools and equipment to complete the project
Clean construction equipment and store inventory properly
Pays close attention to detail to ensure all work is completed satisfactorily
Load or unload materials used in construction or extraction
Participate in demolition
Dig holes or trenches
Pump concrete, grout, lay block, cement
Operate pavement breakers; jackhammers; earth tampers; concrete mixers etc.
Assemble and dismantle temporary equipment or structures
Layout and place underground pipes and conduits
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other contractors to complete the project according to the drawings
Keep track of the progress with detailed notes and pictures
Ensure all the needed equipment is available on the site and safe for use
Meet budget expectations
Meet all the deadlines on a daily and weekly basis
Estimate the cost of materials, labor, machinery, and equipment
Requirements:
No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or GED is preferred
Great stamina and strength
Excellent knowledge of building codes
Able to work in a variety of environments, including dirt, dust, or other hazardous conditions
Be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver’s license
Basic knowledge of and ability to handle tools and equipment in a safe manner
Reliable and self-motivated
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Minimum 2 years of experience in the masonry field
Experience using project management software
