Precision Apparel is excited to announce a job opening for a Sewing Machine Operator, offering a competitive wage of $20-22 per hour, depending on experience. This full-time position is based at our state-of-the-art, 12,000 sq foot facility in Phoenix, where we have been dedicatedly serving the valley for 18 years. Precision Apparel is a leading branding company known for our expertise in screen print and embroidery services. Our move to a new building signifies a growing clientele and an expanding team.

The role of the Sewing Machine Operator is crucial in our production process, helping to maintain the high standards of quality and efficiency for which we are known. Please note, this is not a remote job; the successful candidate will be required to work onsite to effectively fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate various sewing machines to create and complete assigned sewing tasks.
  • Follow garment specifications and handling standards.
  • Ensure that each product is sewed following the set design and quality guidelines.
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment.
  • Adjust machine settings for different jobs.
  • Report any machine malfunctions or sharp declines in quality to supervisory staff promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets.
  • Adhere to safety standards and company policies at all times.
  • Keep a tidy and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Must have strong team skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in an embroidery or sewing shop environment.
  • Ability to hop jobs, change threads, and work in a fast-paced environment while being detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well with others and possess knowledge of matching colors.
  • Must have a general sense of how a sewing or embroidery shop operates.
