As a Dental Assistant with us, you will work closely with our dentists and dental team to deliver high-quality treatments and patient care. We are looking for a committed individual with a passion for dental health and the wellbeing of our patients, who can handle the responsibilities and complexities of dental care in a holistic practice setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including but not limited to, taking and recording dental histories and patient records.
- Prepare and ensure that the dental workstations and instruments are sterile and well-organized.
- Provide patients with aftercare instructions and general dental health education.
- Manage dental supply inventory and place orders as necessary, ensuring that all necessary tools and materials are on hand.
- Take dental x-rays and process x-ray film as directed by the dentist.
- Take impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth used by dentists to evaluate patient treatment needs).
- Provide support to front office staff when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, maintaining a safe and clean work environment at all times.
- Perform administrative and clerical duties with efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the dentist and dental staff to ensure the optimal patient experience and seamless operation of the office.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with at least 2-3 years of experience in a dental practice environment.
- Strong knowledge and competency in dental procedures, especially in holistic practices such as implants, TMD (temporomandibular disorders), and amalgam removal.
- Familiarity with Dentrix software and digital radiography; proficiency highly preferred.
- Certification or associate degree in an accredited dental assistance program.
- Possess excellent manual dexterity with the ability to handle delicate dental instruments appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, and other staff members.
- Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and adapt to changing work environments.
- Commitment to adhering to sanitation and safety regulations as per health guidelines and standards.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and carry out duties in a professional, ethical manner.
- Eagerness to continue developing skills and knowledge in dental assistance, particularly in holistic dental practices.
