Job Description

Murray Motor Group's Lock Haven Ford location is looking for a candidate with a positive attitude and a flair for outstanding customer service. The Service Advisor is the center of communication for service/repair activities and the liaison between customers and the technicians. Serving as the primary point-of-contact for all automotive service and repair matters, the Service Advisor must listen and thoroughly understand customer problems, arrange for appropriate service/repairs, and set/manage expectations on the part of the customers and the technicians in terms of service delivery. He or she makes sure the customer knows what repairs are needed and what maintenance is recommended. No one wants to have to bring their car in, but our Advisors ensure the customer is satisfied that the vehicle will be repaired correctly the first time and in the shortest time possible. Advisors are able to take advantage of FREE pick up and delivery and mobile service to provide our customers with exclusive benefits.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training or experience, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record. He or she must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world-class customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have a positive attitude and be nice
  • Greet every customer in a timely and friendly manner
  • Verifies customer information, the reason for their visit and creates a Repair Order
  • Performs a proper walk around each vehicle with a vehicle check list notating any existing damage to the vehicle.
  • Reviews the customer’s service history using the necessary criteria to offer recommended services
  • Obtains the multipoint inspection from the technician working on the customer's vehicle to cover areas of concern or to determine selling opportunities
  • Updates customers on their vehicle status and reviews the multipoint inspection with them
  • Makes repair recommendations and manages delivery of repairs by setting and managing customer expectations
  • Discuss Ford Pass Rewards
  • Process all phases of Service Contracts, Warranties from submission to payment collection
  • Ensures that the required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Informs customers that they will be receiving a survey from Ford
  • Complete the check-out process-ensuring the proper form of payment is used
  • Thank the customers for their business
  • Must handle customer concerns/issues
  • Must be a team player while working with co-workers
  • Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes regularly
  • Working Saturdays is required as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required

Neat, clean, and professional appearance

A pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality

Highly professional and dependable

Excellent communication skills, customer service, problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.

Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and staff

Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record

Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles

Basic computer and internet skills
