Industrial Design LLC is a growing, full- Service A&E firm found in Chandler Arizona. Our core work revolves around design and engineering of Base build, Progressive build, and Site Infrastructure projects for industrial manufacturing companies; our largest client is a very well know Semiconductor manufacturer with multiple sites in the City of Chandler. In addition to infrastructure design and engineering we also offer in-house services for Tool Installation design, 3D Laser scanning, Concrete GPR, Trimble Point/Datums, 3D/BIM modeling, Vinyl System Labeling, and Industrial Layout.
Summary -
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with a current PE license to take on a key leadership role in the electrical design and development of complex systems for semiconductor-related projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design, a deep understanding of semiconductor facility requirements, and the ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines within our firm. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of drafters, designers, and junior engineers, overseeing electrical design projects from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring your team to foster professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical design and engineering projects, mainly for the semiconductor industry, ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
- Lead and manage a team of drafters, designers, and junior engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and direction to ensure successful project delivery.
- Perform detailed electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and backup systems, tailored to the unique needs of semiconductor facilities.
- Collaborate with architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, process piping teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into broader project designs.
- Ensure that electrical designs are compliant with local and national codes, as well as industry best practices and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Oversee the preparation of electrical design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
- Conduct power system studies and simulations, including fault analysis, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Review and approve work from junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and mentorship to foster their professional growth.
- Interface directly with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution and timely resolution of any design-related issues.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Prepare construction documents and participate in construction administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Electrical Engineering (required).
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical design engineering
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE, and other relevant standards.
- Proven track record of leading electrical design projects from concept to completion.
- Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers, drafters, and designers in the delivery of electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Easy Power, SKM, Etap or similar platforms.
- Prior experience with Semiconductor, cleanroom or industrial projects.
- Experience with medium and low voltage systems, backup power systems (UPS, generators), and electrical safety design in semiconductor manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with sustainable or energy-efficient design practices and systems.
- Proficiency in project management and experience leading teams in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- LEED certification or similar sustainable design certification.
