Industrial Design LLC is a growing, full- Service A&E firm found in Chandler Arizona.

Our core work revolves around design and engineering of Base build, Progressive build, and Site Infrastructure projects for industrial manufacturing companies; our largest client is a very well know Semiconductor manufacturer with multiple sites in the City of Chandler. In addition to infrastructure design and engineering we also offer in-house services for Tool Installation design, 3D Laser scanning, Concrete GPR, Trimble Point/Datums, 3D/BIM modeling, Vinyl System Labeling, and Industrial Layout.

Position Summary: Industrial Design is looking for a Professional Structural Engineer (PE)

This person will oversee team leadership, execution, and reporting for the development and delivery of large, extraordinarily complex, mechatronic systems.

Professional Engineer Essential Responsibilities:

  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables.
  • Predict resources needed to complete project.
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites.
  • Communicate with clients and identify the goal they want to accomplish or the problem they want to solve.
  • Interaction with clients about their initial expectations and start conducting research to create accurate estimates about various aspects of the project.
  • Interaction on client’s obligations. Providing different scenarios and providing options for completing the project depending on specifications feasible for the client.
  • Review schematics from other Engineers to ensure they all align with the client’s expectations.
  • Create and implement tests to track key metrics and adjust to reach their targets.
  • Manage costs to meet budget.
  • Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts.
  • Coordinate production schedules and requirements with shop.
  • Manage delivery schedule and activities.
  • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines.
  • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track and distribute RFIs.
  • Assist in management of project permit process.
  • Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement.
  • Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress and materials delivery.
  • Change management, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing actions and change orders.
  • Track and inspect material deliveries.
  • Attending project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and record meeting minutes.
  • Assist and/or complete project close-out.
  • Communicate and enforce environmental, health and safety management policies.
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others.
  • Maintain accurate contract documents.
  • PEP Creation / Modification
  • Working understanding of Level of Detail (LOD) related to modeling scopes.
  • Experience working with the Intel Corporation and their ILCC contract language.
  • Experience working with high value, complex projects that involve Lase Scan / Point cloud data, Field Technicians, Modelers, Integrators, Teams made of multiple companies.
  • External Safety Compliance stakeholders and the managing of intellectual property
  • Assist Senior Project Manager

Education and Experience

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • At least a Two (2) year degree in an engineering or construction related field.
  • Ten (10+) years of relevant client-facing experience within the industry.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in a leadership role
  • Four (4) plus years of experience in the field and knowledge of project planning.
  • Experience with Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD (experience with VDC projects), ability to fluidly navigate Navis Models with clients and partners.
  • Advanced Technology experience (Semiconductor / pharmaceutical / precision manufacturing or R&D)
  • Ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, addenda, bid materials, contracts and related construction documents, with an emphasis on structural drawings and steel shop drawings.
  • Understanding of Civil NEE coordinate systems
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent basic math and algebra skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Preferred qualifications (not needed but highly preferred):

  • Master’s degree in a related “engineering” field
  • Ten to Fifteen (10- 15) years of relevant client-facing experience in semiconductor or related experience.
  • Working understanding of Level of Detail (LOD) related to modeling scopes.
  • Experience working with the Intel Corporation and their ILCC contract language.
  • Experience working with high value, complex projects that involve Lase Scan / Point cloud data, Field Technicians, Modelers, Integrators, Teams made of multiple companies.
