Position Summary: Industrial Design is looking for Professional Engineers - Electrical and Structural Engineers. Highly encouraged in applying!

Our Architectural/Engineering Firm primarily serves the Semiconductor industry locally in the Chandler Arizona area, though we do work across the valley and in Rio Rancho New Mexico too.

Our projects are related to equipment installation and building modifications with industrial and commercial applications. We offer services in all disciplines of design including architectural, structural, mechanical, process piping, chemical, electrical, I&C and telecom.

We are looking to fill the roles of Professional Engineering positions (PE- US states, Arizona, highly preferred) in support of our growing business.

The candidate who is hired would provide Engineering services related to various phases of design projects including: development of preliminary designs, calculations, creation of plans / details / sections / elevations, QAQC, and field inspections / observations. This position is 85% desk and 15% field work in industrial environment.

This is a full-time, long-term position. Our primary work sites are both in Chandler Arizona and the structural designer position will be based in an office at one of these two locations. Occasional travel between the two sites while on company time is required.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience with AutoCAD 2D. Basic core competencies in office computing and office software applications are required. AutoCAD 3D, REVIT, Scene, Navisworks and / or ReCAP software experience is a big plus.
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple projects in various stages of completion simultaneously.
  • Experience with OSHA compliant design is preferred.
  • Experience performing field inspections to determine existing conditions.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Good attitude towards working outside of one’s comfort zone and a willingness to learn new things.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree
  • Hands on experience creating floor plans, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and riser diagrams, using applicable software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit to produce engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE standards and International Building Codes (IBC) desired.
  • Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative. Ability to multitask on multiple projects and work independently. Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Local candidates. Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment required.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Experience in semiconductor tool install, semiconductor, cleanroom, or industrial projects.

Duties in Responsibilities:

  • Work on behalf of the engineer of record and design team on specified scopes of work at an industrial project site.
  • Produce and review 2D and 3D design drawings for high technology facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, standards, specifications, and procedures.
  • Responsible for coordination & multidiscipline clash checking including the resolving of design issues
  • Site surveys of existing services to ascertain “as-built” conditions.
  • Prepare construction documents for electrical systems, including drawings and specifications.
  • Perform construction administration and field work as required.
  • Participate in team coordination activities with other disciplines, sub-contractors, and Clients.
  • May be requested to provide guidance to Designer/Engineer as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.
  • Studies basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems.
  • Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature.
  • Derives requirements through multiple sources of documentation and design meetings.
  • Evaluate, with supervision, uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.
  • Patriciate in trade studies for both internal projects and procured equipment.
  • Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Perform short circuit, load flow, Arc Flash and protection coordination studies

Compensation grade based on current Professional Engineers. Candidates qualified to take the Exam for the Professional Licensing.

Industrial Design is looking to add experienced engineers who are familiar with the Semiconductor / Industrial / Commercial TI environments.

Our work is very much a hands-on / eyes-on type application and therefore this role is an onsite, essential worker role with no opportunity for any kind of remote work. If you are not comfortable with in person, on site work in the current environment then please understand, respectfully, this position is not ideal for you. On the same note this project position is not available to anyone looking to work from another state or outside of the country, we are not interested in any staff augmentation services nor any 3rd party subcontract support work.
