Elmer's Home Service is excited to announce an open position for a skilled Carpenter within our dynamic team. This full-time role is focused on enhancing and supporting our projects directly on-site and is not eligible for remote work considerations. Our Carpenters play a crucial role in supporting our primary services, ensuring high-quality results through expert craftsmanship. The selected candidate will be instrumental in constructing and maintaining the structural integrity required by our HVAC systems. This involves meticulous work and collaboration with other team members to deliver timely and effective project completions. Our projects typically operate Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM, with occasional weekends required based on project needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project plans and blueprints to determine materials requirements and plan the sequence of tasks.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using precision tools.
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and doorframes, and assist in installing HVAC systems.
• Ensure all constructed and installed structures meet building codes and requirements.
• In collaboration with HVAC technicians, construct and maintain supportive frameworks and enclosures necessary for HVAC systems.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to industry safety norms and company standards.
• Diagnose and repair issues with existing frameworks and installations.
• Participate in ongoing training sessions and workshops to enhance carpentry skills and techniques.
• Maintain diligent records of time spent and materials used on projects.
• Communicate effectively and timely with supervisors and other team members concerning project statuses and any arising issues.
• Effectively manage time to ensure that tasks are completed within allocated timeframes and meet project deadlines.
• Occasionally liaise with clients to clarify project details and ensure satisfaction with the work conducted.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter; experience in the HVAC industry is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and handling of carpentry materials and a strong understanding of construction fundamentals.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools necessary for carpentry duties.
• Ability to read, interpret, and execute constructions from blueprints and technical drawings.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate a smooth interaction with team members and occasionally clients.
• Physical capability to handle labor-intense tasks including lifting at least 50 lbs.
• A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and open to participating in developmental opportunities to enhance skills and techniques in carpentry.
• Must maintain punctuality and have a record of good attendance.
• Must adhere to safety guidelines at all times to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
