Key Responsibilities
As our Dental Front Office Receptionist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our patients feel welcome and cared for. Your duties will include, but aren’t limited to, the following tasks:
• Answering Phones: Be the friendly and helpful voice that patients hear when they call. • Scheduling and Confirming Appointments: Help patients secure convenient appointments and stay on track with their dental care. • Checking Patients In and Out of Appointments: Create a warm, welcoming experience upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-out process. • Collecting Payments: Process patient payments over the counter with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. • Presenting Treatment Plans: Discuss treatment options, help calculate patient costs, and offer financial solutions. • Building Trust: Connect with patients in a way that aligns with their communication style, easing any concerns and breaking down barriers to treatment. • Managing Schedules: Maintain a productive schedule that benefits both our team’s workflow and our patients’ care. • Assisting with Patient Billing: Support billing efforts and confidently work with insurance providers (experience with treatment planning and dental billing is a plus, though we’re happy to train you!).
Required Skills
We’re looking for someone who’s personable, proactive, and driven to succeed. Here are a few traits we’d love to see in you:
• Strong communication and customer service skills—you enjoy making someone’s day better with a smile or a kind word. • Experience with Open Dental software is preferred but not required. Open Dental offers user-friendly training resources, and we’re happy to provide support for the right candidate. • Familiarity with dental terminology is helpful, but we’re open to training you if needed. • Confidence in discussing treatment plans and working with insurance providers. This will come with work experience, and we will train and support you.
